2 Samuel 4
I do not know if we completely understand all the principles of God, but there is one we need to learn and that is to keep our cool and remain relax at all times because staying in the state of apprehension, discomfort or extreme anger will do no good to us. God at all times offers us comfort because we are vulnerable to lose our cool. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
Jesus said, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” (Luke 12:25). Worrying is scientifically proven to increase free radicals in our bodies that are known to cause certain diseases and cancer. So Jesus and His words are at all times trying to give us not only comfort, but literally, life.
We need to understand that as humans we can feel anger, but the Word of God reminds us never to sin in our anger (Ephesians 4:26). Our anger could result to sinning, which the worst we could do is to murder in the presence of radical rage. We might not be literally murdering our neighbor, but with our anger, we can create and throw our thoughts, words and gestures beyond the real context of love. With anger, a simple yet deadly thing such as badmouthing our neighbors is possible. The Bible reminds us that anyone who hates his brother is a murderer (1 John 3:15).
In today’s reading, the Word of God reminds us to stay calm and relax and let God do the rest especially in claiming for justice. David’s two soldiers died because of placing justice in their own hands by killing Ish-Bosheth, son of Saul who was declared king over
Israel by Abner. On the contrary, David never
dared to create a move for he believed God is just and fair and will do the
right thing (1 Samuel 26:9-11).
We may be offended by our neighbors, but God reminds us once again to put our trust in Him and He will do the rest. Besides, it can do no good to us if we follow our own moves especially if we are under the influence of anger, pride, disappointments, shame and discomforts. This will only lead to further probable conflict, destruction and trouble. Give everything to God and He will take revenge in behalf of us because He is fair and just, not leaving those who sinned unpunished. Staying calm and relax is the best we can do while leaving everything to God, for He will do the rest.
Give everything to the Lord, for He will do the rest including total deliverance and victory over those who will stand against us.
God wants us to be delivered from all our enemies, conflicts and troubles.
Surrender everything to God and do not take revenge or do any wrong moves because there is God Who will stand for us.
What we are doing to our neighbors will eventually be done to us. So in any way, never create wrong moves that will stand against God’s principles for they will always lead to destruction.
Learn to entrust everything to God so that there will be no grieving of hearts and everything will be under control.
Father in Heaven, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, thank You once again for reminding us to put our trust in You and allow You to take control of everything. Sometimes because we are in great trouble or in the midst of depressing events, we forget to acknowledge You and to allow You to do Your part in our battle. Help us to trust in You at all times and allow us to make it our lifestyle. This we ask and pray, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
