The Future Of The Human Race

by Arthelo Palma

The Future Of The Human RaceThere is a vast universe beyond our blue planet Earth, the solar system and the Milky Way galaxy. The odds of having the same planet like Earth out there could be higher, knowing that there could be billions of stars with even billions of planets curving around them.

Last September, I published another article in the Digital Journal with headline ‘A newfound world, possible to sustain life.’ The report headlines Gliese 163c orbiting the star Gliese 163, 50 light years from Earth in the region of Dorado constellation, found to have probable structures and compositions like our planet, which could possibly sustain life.

Recently, we heard reports from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) concerning the discovery of the robot, Curiosity Rover on Mars.

From the Digital Journal report, “China has just entered into a space program and Russia was even rumored with its space exploration plan until 2030.”

From the past, since the dawn of the civilization, we were informed about the powerful nations extending their territories by subjugating lands across the world. We heard Alexander the Great as one of the most renowned conquerors in the human history. Before, powerful nations tried to conquer land after land. But with the advancement of human knowledge and technology today (think of the new model smartphones you have now compared to the hopelessly outmoded model you thought was high-tech before, and the discovery of stem cells), nations like China, US, and Russia are in the near future would be able to successfully extend their territories in space. The US has just started on Mars.

These countries are profit oriented and we know it. Why the US would spend billions of budgets for space exploration programs without getting something in return? I would ask the same question for China and Russia.

Anyway, whatever intentions these countries might have for now, I would like to thank them for their initial space exploration programs, as this would be the beginning to extend the human race from Earth and beyond the Milky Way galaxy. Perhaps, people of today are born too early just like Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, and Steve Job to witness the humans conquering the whole universe soon.

But apart from science and technology, let us go down deeper into what will make us successful to subjugate the entire universe. There must be a secret formula for us to be able to make it and not fail. Let us explore on this subject by pondering on some remarkable human attributes leading to success.

Patience and hope

Do you think you will be enjoying your latest smartphone models or handy tablet with savvy had Steve Job stopped innovating possibilities? Would reaching one country to another be possible in just few hours had the Wright brothers lost hope inventing aircraft for the belief that someday humans could fly like birds? Think about it. Their success can be attributed to their ability of not losing their patience and hope for obtaining success.

Scientists like Thomas Alba Edison, Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein were determined to find something new, no matter what it costs and how many mistakes they might come across. Edison got more than a hundred mistakes before he finally figured out the right things necessary for his incandescent bulb to work, but he was determined enough to succeed.

Other positive human attributes

Now continue thinking other positive human characteristics that could lead us to success. Include in them these attributes such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Yes, you got it right, these are supposed to govern the whole universe, because against such things there is no law (based on Galatians 5:22-23). With greediness for instance, and in the absence of love, man is compelled to consider each other a rival, and end up with envy, slander and worst, murder. There will be no law. There is no presence of love in it.

Nations for instance, with high emission of carbon dioxide must set aside socio-economic and political gain, but should think of saving this planet for the next generation, for humans to live forever.

I am convinced, God wants the humanity to succeed in everything it does, but we need to ensure there is always love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control in them for the human race to live eternal life with Him.

My personal meditation

Because of the truth of God’s Word, I am compelled to believe, the life of the humanity in the universe starts on the planet earth, and if we continue to live in the principle Jesus taught us, life will be eternal and abundant for the humanity. Christ said, ‘I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly’ (John 10:10b).

Yes, there is abundance in this vast universe, literally. In fact, astronomers recently reveal the diamond covered planet 55 Cancri e, which is twice the size of Earth. But the abundance Jesus promised us is more than this and it is manifested through living each day a life abounding with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. If you read the entire Bible, you will know these are the very attributes of Christ. Becoming like Christ and believing in Him will certainly lead the humanity to eternal life. No wonder, why Jesus Christ is very alive today, and including those who receive Him in their lives. After all, God so love the world that He gave Jesus, that whoever believe in Him will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). Physically and spiritually, a life with Jesus Christ is determined to be eternal. The humanity with Jesus Christ is meant to live forever.

God and His words are one. God is good, so His Words are good. Heaven and earth will fade but God’s Words remain forever, because goodness will always prevail over evil, in the same way that darkness cannot consume the light in the vast universe.

Scientists found three-fourth of the universe is composed of dark space, but it is not enough to consume the brightness that is expanding too. For us to contribute to this brightness let us keep Jesus Christ shining in our lives today.

Be richly blessed ahead!
