Why Are You SAD?

Sadness is the absence of comfort in one's feeling or emotion. It is a normal human emotional response especially in situations where there is presence of discomfort, such as grieving due to the death of a relative or friend, feeling of rejection and resentment, conflicts or troubles in relationship and so on. Aside from all of these, there are some other important reasons why there is sadness.

1. Failed expectations and needs not sustained. A person is sad when there is a need that cannot be sustained or expectations failed. In this case, sadness can be a manifestation of what is going on inside of the self. Many people are sad because at some point they failed to obtain the things they most expected, allowing them to miss the chance to appreciate the beauty of the things surrounding them as discontentment prevails. Discontentment in a negative way as something that will not lead to a positive result but only discouragements brings sadness.

2. Upshot of lifestyle. We all have varying personalities and they can determine our lifestyle. People who are outgoing are expected to have more friends than those who are introverts. But that is not the deciding point. It might be that being alone in most of the time is what will give the most comfort to a person. In other words, possibly it's not all about our personalities that will lead us to sadness, but on how we take a bite into our lifestyle everyday. A poor lifestyle will probably lead to poor habits and eventually addictions. Some people grapple with day to day addiction as an upshot of poor lifestyle affecting the other areas of their lives and finally they decided to be set free only to find out there's no easy way out. That gives them sadness or even stress to the highest level. A high stress level can result to sadness. Accumulation of too much stress results to depression. As a result, depression is often viewed as intense level of sadness.

3. Worries in life. We all worry, as it is part of being human. But there are negative worries that will hold a person to be motivated and destroy his creative means to employ ways to improve his life. These types of worries bring fears, discouragements and hopelessness. All of these bring total discomfort and eventually sadness.

4. Troubles in life. Having too much debt, problematic relationship, unsettled direction of life and so on are some important indicators how much troubles a person has in his life. Troubles that are part of mistakes are in their positive forms if one will be able to correct them for good. However, if one trouble leads to the other until the whole thing became complex, sadness at the highest level is expected to take its toll on one's soul.

Sadness is a natural human response to discomfort, but on its positive side it reminds us to find for the better way to improve our lives and live to be happy.
